Man fatally shot by police in Asheville, NC for brandishing gun and assaulting city worker; State Bureau of Investigation probing incident.
Asheville, NC: A man died after police shot him for brandishing a gun and assaulting a city worker with a shovel. Officers were called to the scene after receiving multiple 911 calls and ordered him to drop his weapon. After pointing the gun at officers, he was shot and barricaded himself inside his home, where he was later found dead. The NC State Bureau of Investigation is currently probing the incident. No officers were injured.
