33-year-old Arizona woman, Chenoa Nickerson, went missing after being swept into Havasu Creek during a flash flood in Grand Canyon National Park. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, with rescue efforts starting shortly after. Nickerson was swept into the creek without a life jacket and is yet to be accounted for. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, and anyone with information about Nickerson is asked to contact park officials. The National Guard has been called in to help evacuate stranded hikers, and Governor Katie Hobbs has activated the Arizona National Guard, which includes Blackhawk helicopters for the evacuation operations. The Havasupai Tribe's reservation, where the incident occurred, has closed the steep, winding trail leading to the reservation and has requested visitors with permits through Sunday not to come.
