Surrey RCMP seized over 100 counterfeit smartphones, including Apple products, as part of an ongoing investigation into a sophisticated operation where multiple suspects allegedly sold fake goods. The operation began in December 2023 with a suspicious package containing counterfeit iPhones and fraudulent receipts. Authorities have identified multiple suspects and are working on submitting a complete report to the BC Prosecution Service for charge approval. The police are advising the public to verify the authenticity of cellphones purchased from sellers other than the manufacturer or retail outlets.
