Clemson University's Department of Plant Industry destroyed multiple secondary nests of invasive yellow-legged hornets near Hilton Head Island, marking the first discovery of such nests in South Carolina. The nests were found after a beekeeper reported hornets attacking his honeybees. Inspectors are urging homeowners to allow them access to their properties as they continue their search for other nests in Beaufort and Jasper Counties.
