2023 sees over 70 Asian hornet nests discovered in UK's Worcestershire, more than previous six years combined.
Asian hornets, first seen in the UK in 2016, are expected to reach Worcestershire by next year. There have been 85 confirmed nest sightings in 56 locations since their discovery, with 72 sightings in 2023 alone, more than the previous six years combined. The Malvern and Upton Beekeepers Association plans to increase awareness, identify and report the hornets, and avoid misidentifying and harming other insects.
