Burlington Police Officer Timothy Kirchner, a 32-year veteran, was injured after being struck by a vehicle while working a construction detail. A 75-year-old driver accidentally hit the gas pedal while attempting to park, causing the accident. Kirchner suffered serious injuries to his arm, elbow, and leg and was taken to Lahey Hospital. The Massachusetts State Police are investigating the incident.
