New Zealand charity Auckland City Mission inadvertently distributed meth-laced candies to families.

New Zealand charity Auckland City Mission accidentally distributed candies containing lethal amounts of methamphetamine to families in need. The candies were found to be contaminated after some recipients complained about their foul taste and sought medical treatment. The sweets were donated by an unknown individual and tested by the New Zealand Drug Foundation, which discovered the lethal dose. Police believe the candies are a byproduct of an international drug trafficking operation and are investigating how they entered the country. The charity has no suspicion of wrongdoing by its staff.
