31-year-old Darren Ashton-Lake, diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia, raised £1,960 in 48 hours for a standing frame to improve mobility, after the NHS couldn't provide one. The bespoke standing frame by Oswestry Frames will take 6-8 weeks to be made and delivered. Ashton-Lake's fundraiser received assistance from 11 donors, including a £500 donation, and the funds will be donated to Ataxia UK charity.
