Union Pacific, the US's largest railroad, has not fully implemented a schedule agreement to provide predictable schedules for its engineers, despite promises to address quality-of-life concerns. The new schedules, when implemented, allow engineers to attend doctor's appointments and be present at important family events, but issues remain. Union Pacific CEO Jim Vena states the company still plans to live up to the schedule agreement it signed, but needs to make some adjustments to the deal.
