Cyprus' Environment Commissioner attended a meeting discussing opposition to the Mathiatis Photovoltaic park, which is planned for Lythrodontas, Mathiatis, and Analionta/Kataliontas. The park aims to generate 180MW of power; however, local authorities express concerns about the park's size, land occupation, and environmental impact, including the need to fell thousands of trees. An Environmental Impact Assessment and Supplementary Study have been submitted for consultation until August 24.
