In Zimbabwe, schoolchildren face daily threats from wildlife due to food and water shortages pushing animals closer to human populations. To adapt, the Save Valley Conservancy and country's parks agency have introduced programs for school-age children to learn how to recognize danger signs and coexist with wildlife. The initiative teaches students to identify different wildlife footprints, animal sounds, and wind direction to stay safe during their daily walks to and from school. The programs aim to instill a sense of ownership and respect for local wildlife, and help change parents' attitudes towards the presence of wild animals in their communities.
