43 HAP rental properties available in Ireland by June, 10/16 surveyed areas lacking them, majority in Dublin; Simon Communities calls for increased social and affordable housing investment.

43 rental properties in Ireland were available under HAP (Housing Assistance Payment) in June, according to the latest Locked Out of the Market report by Simon Communities. While the number of properties has increased by 13% from March, 10 out of the 16 surveyed areas had no HAP properties, and the majority of the available properties were in Dublin. The Simon Communities' Executive Director, Wayne Stanley, called for increased investment in social and affordable housing, implementation of the Housing Commission report, and a review of basic HAP rates since 2016.
