NZ's Te Pūkenga achieves $50M cost savings, operating deficit decreases from $93.4M to $37.9M.

New Zealand's Institute of Skills and Technology, Te Pūkenga, reported a $50 million cost-saving achievement, despite government concerns. With all 25 polytechnics and work-based training organizations under one entity, Te Pūkenga's 2023 annual report showed an operating deficit of $37.9 million, down from the forecasted $93.4 million. The institute attributes the results to cost-saving measures, increased international student enrolment, and work-based learning division progress.
