Armidale Urgent Care Service temporarily closed due to doctor shortage; recruiting new GPs to reopen.

Armidale Urgent Care Service, which aimed to relieve emergency department pressure at Armidale Hospital, has temporarily closed due to a shortage of doctors. Staffed by GPs and nurses, the service provided diagnostic services over the phone. UNE Life, which ran the initiative, is recruiting new GPs, and the Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network remains committed to reopening the service when staffing issues are resolved.
