4 Las Vegas high school students plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter in juvenile court for fatal beating of fellow student over stolen items.
Four Las Vegas high school students have agreed to plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter in a juvenile court, avoiding trial as adults. They were initially charged with second-degree murder and conspiracy in connection with the fatal beating of fellow student, 17-year-old Jonathan Lewis Jr., in November. The plea deal will see the four sent to juvenile court and face an indeterminate length of imprisonment in a juvenile detention center. If any of the students back out of the agreement, they will be charged again in adult court. The incident occurred near Rancho High School and allegedly began over a stolen vape pen and wireless headphones.
