13 teenage boys in Lahad Datu, Malaysia were charged with the murder of a 17-year-old vocational student at a dormitory in March. The boys, aged 16 to 19, face charges under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries a death sentence or imprisonment of up to 40 years and 12 strokes of the cane upon conviction. No plea was recorded as the case is under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
