Former Royal Alberta Museum building in Edmonton will be demolished and replaced with a green space, as announced by the province. The old museum, vacant since 2015, had an estimated $700,000 annual maintenance cost. Demolition is estimated to cost $22-48m, with a $150m repurposing cost. Online survey and consultation with Indigenous communities will gather feedback for the green space project.
