Falkirk Council demolished the vacant Royal Hotel in Slamannan, planning to transform the land into a green space.

Falkirk Council demolished the former Royal Hotel in Slamannan, an "eyesore" that had been empty for over 20 years. The council bought the property for £1 and plans to transform the land into a green space, with input from the local community on its use. Demolition firm Central Demolition was hired to raze the building, with preparatory work beginning in March and the site expected to be cleared by Friday.
