Canada's Parliament Centre Block nears rebuilding phase after years of demolition, aiming to reopen in 2032.

The major restoration of Canada's Parliament Centre Block, costing between $4.5 billion and $5 billion, is nearing the rebuilding phase after six years of demolition and excavation. The renovation aims to remove asbestos, update safety codes, and add a new visitor center doubling annual tour capacity. Steel supports and seismic shock absorbers are being installed, and heritage elements are being restored. The project, which began in 2018, is set to finish in 2030 or 2031, with reopening planned for 2032.
