Nepal and India's Techno Electric and Engineering Company Ltd. signed a $38.89m contract to build a 400kV substation in Damauli, completing the awarding process for all three 400kV stations under the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Nepal Compact. The new substation, with a capacity of 1000 MVA, will be one of Nepal's largest and will integrate with Ratmate, Lekhnath, and New Butwal substations, greatly improving the nation's power distribution network. MCC grants $500m to Nepal for building transmission lines and upgrading road projects.
