India renewed a 3-month electricity trade agreement with Nepal, exporting 554 MW despite Nepal's request for 650 MW.

India renewed its electricity trade agreement with Nepal for three months, allowing the export of 554 MW, despite Nepal's request for 650 MW. This agreement, which started on March 30th, is necessary due to a drop in hydropower production during winter, causing a shortage in Nepal's electricity supply. The electricity will be imported through the Dhalkebar-Muzaffarpur and Tanakpur transmission lines.
