Alice Munro's husband, Gerald Fremlin, declined to address the courtroom after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting the author's daughter, according to a court transcript. The transcript shows that Fremlin made a $10,000 donation to a program for abuse victims. The admission was not made public until the author's stepdaughter, Andrea Skinner, wrote about her childhood abuse in a Toronto Star essay.
