Central Huron Mayor considers altering Alice Munro monument due to husband's alleged abuse.
Central Huron Mayor Jim Ginn says he'd "consider" altering a monument honoring Nobel Prize-winning author Alice Munro, who lived in the area. The move comes after allegations about Munro's second husband, Gerald Fremlin, who reportedly harassed and abused her during their marriage. Munro's writing skills will be remembered, but if public calls for change emerge, the municipality will consider amending the monument.
