Irish Army horse LMK Derry, ridden by Lieutenant Michael Byrne, failed a drug test at a showjumping event in Northern Ireland, testing positive for a controlled medication (Sedaline) not used during competitions. The horse and rider were disqualified, with Lt. Byrne fined €1,000 and €500 in costs. The Irish Defence Forces are investigating how the horse came into contact with the sedative, which is administered under veterinary supervision at their Equitation School.
