Myanmar's figurehead President Myint Swe, 73, a former army officer, is reportedly suffering from serious health issues including psychomotor retardation, malnutrition, neurological disorders, and peripheral neuropathy, according to the state-run Global New Light of Myanmar newspaper. Myint Swe became head of state during the 2021 coup and handed power to the military. His health problems may pose a constitutional issue for the junta, which is already struggling to govern amid widespread unrest.
