25-year-old man arrested for 2021 murder of Anaru Moana, third arrest in case; body not found.
25-year-old man arrested and charged with 2021 murder of South Canterbury's Anaru Moana, making it the third arrest in the case. Two other men were previously arrested and charged with murder in 2022. The Police National Dive Squad assisted in extensive searches of waterways in the Waitaki and Waimate areas but Moana's body has not yet been located. The investigation, led by Detective Senior Sergeant Nik Leigh, remains ongoing.
