12 people from Illinois and Iowa have possibly or confirmedly contracted cryptosporidiosis, a gastrointestinal illness, after contact with raccoons at Pat's Bandits wildlife rehabilitation facility in Hillsdale, IL between June 22 and July 3. The Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois Department of Natural Resources are investigating the outbreak, advising anyone experiencing diarrhea after volunteering at the facility to seek medical attention and possible testing.
