NRL to induct 14th Immortal, expand Hall of Fame with 3-year retirement rule change.
The NRL plans to induct a 14th Immortal in August, with Cameron Smith and Johnathan Thurston now eligible due to revised Hall of Fame rules. NRL previously required a 5-year retirement before consideration, but this has been reduced to 3 years. The Hall of Fame will expand annually, with 25 names added each year, including male & female players, coaches, referees, and contributors.
