Indian Kharif season sowing increase leads to Urad price decline in Indore and Delhi markets.
Indian government efforts and increased sowing in the Kharif season have led to a decline in Urad prices, with wholesale prices in Indore and Delhi markets decreasing by 3.12% and 1.08% respectively. The area sown for Urad cultivation has reached 5.37 lakh hectares, up from 3.67 lakh hectares in the same period last year. Good rainfall is expected to boost production in major Urad-producing states and support self-sufficiency in the pulses sector.
