The National Fertilizers Limited (NFL) has assured Punjab farmers that there is enough urea for the current Rabi sowing season, urging them not to hoard supplies. The company reports that more than a lakh tonne of urea exceeds the seasonal demand, with 60% distributed by Markfed and 40% by private dealers. Urea production in India has risen to 314.07 lakh tonnes annually, and a 45 kg bag costs around ₹250.
