Chittenden Volunteer Fire Department Captain Charlie Parker died in line of duty after responding to a barn fire. Parker, a veteran firefighter with over 40 years of service, was found unresponsive by a fellow firefighter upon returning to the station. Lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful.
