Darrell Helton, a 49-year-old volunteer firefighter from the Belfry Volunteer Fire Department in Pike County, Kentucky, died while assisting a neighboring department during a mutual aid call. While shuttling water to a structure fire, he reported a fluttering sensation in his chest, then collapsed after sitting down. Despite CPR and hospital care, he was pronounced dead. Supporting Heroes, an organization for families of fallen emergency personnel, released an incident report.
