3.013 million airline passengers were screened by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) on Sunday, July 7, marking the first time more than 3 million people passed through airport security in a single day. The previous record of 2.99 million was set on June 23, 2024. The surge in travelers, coinciding with the Fourth of July holiday, resulted in nine of the top ten busiest days in TSA's history occurring in 2024.
