Microchip Technology unveiled its new PIC64 High-Performance Spaceflight Computing (PIC64-HPSC) microprocessor family, addressing the growing computational needs of the space hardware and service industry. The PIC64-HPSC devices, which include the PIC64GX MPUs, are radiation- and fault-tolerant, designed to support a diverse and expanding range of space market applications. This comes as the space hardware and service industry is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 7% from $330B in 2023 to $755B by 2035, according to a World Economic Forum report.
