Merimbula held successful fishing events with catches of various species during favorable weather.
Merimbula saw successful fishing during favorable weather, with catches of flathead, snapper, morwong, nannygai, salmon, tailor, and bluefin tuna. Flathead fishing was in depths between 40-55 meters, and reef fishing yielded snapper, morwong, and nannygai. Beaches had small salmon and tailor catches, while estuaries teemed with salmon. Game fishing saw boats catching albacore and bluefin tuna, and a junior fishing competition is planned by Merimbula Big Game and Lakes Angling Club during the July school holidays.
