Rotorua Mātauranga Māori Science and Design Fair featured over 100 innovative projects in its third year, ranging from water quality and rongoā (traditional Māori medicines) to investigating the legend of star-crossed lovers Hinemoa and Tūtānekai. A group from Te Rangihakahaka Centre for Science and Technology tested whether Hinemoa could have heard Tūtānekai's flute calling from across the lake.
