Italian appeals court upholds convictions of two US citizens for killing Italian police officer during drug deal gone wrong in Rome, reducing their sentences.

An Italian appeals court has upheld the convictions of two American men for the killing of an Italian police officer during a drug deal gone wrong in Rome, but reduced their sentences. The court sentenced Lee Elder Finnegan to 15 years and two months in prison and Gabriele Natale-Hjorth to 11 years and four months, after they were initially convicted in a new trial following Italy's high court throwing out their convictions in March. Both were 18 and 19 years old at the time of the 2019 killing of Carabinieri Vice Brigadier Mario Cerciello Rega.
