Pakistan's government increases fuel prices due to rising international petroleum market trends.
Pakistan's financially struggling government increases fuel prices, marking a tough start to the new fiscal year. Petrol and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) prices were raised by Rs 7.45 and Rs 9.56 per litre, respectively. The Finance Ministry attributed the increase to a rising trend in international petroleum markets. This comes after the government had previously reduced fuel prices ahead of the Eid ul Adha festival. The new prices for petrol and HSD are Rs 265.61 and Rs 277.45 per litre, respectively.
