Pakistan's petrol and diesel prices to increase by Rs7 and Rs8 per litre on 1 July due to higher international rates and PDL rise to Rs80 per litre.

Pakistan's petrol and diesel prices set to increase by Rs7 and Rs8 per litre, respectively, on July 1 due to higher international market rates and the proposed increase in petroleum development levy (PDL) to Rs80 per liter in Finance Bill 2024. This follows four consecutive price cuts. The new PDL rates will not be immediately implemented but phased in. If implemented, petrol rates may reach Rs265.16 per liter and diesel could rise to Rs277.89 per liter, up from the current rates of Rs267.89 per liter for diesel.
