Dublin rededicates historical Black cemetery Brown-Harris Cemetery, discovered in 2020, as part of efforts to highlight African-American history.
The city of Dublin dedicated a historical Black cemetery, Brown-Harris Cemetery, where more than 20 Black Ohioans are buried. Discovered in 2020 during land surveys for a new Wexner Medical Center, the cemetery's history was connected to the Brown and Harris families. The cemetery had been buried under farmland for years, and its rededication is part of efforts to shine a light on African-American history in central Ohio.
