Former NRL player Junior Amone's sentence was reduced by two months after his appeal against his community-based jail sentence for a violent hammer attack. Amone, along with his father, were found guilty of assault, stalking, and property damage in relation to the incident in November 2022. Despite the reduced sentence, Amone remains barred from playing NRL until at least 2026.
