Former Michigan police chief Tressa Beltran, who admitted to stealing drugs and selling them, was sentenced to over three years in prison.

Former Michigan police chief Tressa Beltran, who admitted to stealing drugs from her department, has been sentenced to more than three years in prison. Circuit Court Judge Kathleen Brickley said Beltran tarnished the image of law enforcement and will be eligible for parole after approximately 3 1/2 years. Beltran resigned as police chief in Hartford in 2023 after investigators searched department offices, finding she had been using her role to obtain controlled substances and sell them.
