The Deposit Return scheme has reduced can and bottle litter by almost 30% since its introduction in February, according to Irish Business Against Litter (Ibal). The first national litter survey since the scheme's introduction found that discarded cans and plastic bottles were less prevalent than in any previous survey. Dublin city centre, however, saw a fall in cleanliness.
