Study by IIT-Delhi, AIIMS, Mahajan Imaging finds Yoga Nidra induces deep relaxation and heightens brain connectivity, with more significant changes in experienced practitioners.

A study led by IIT-Delhi, AIIMS, and Mahajan Imaging revealed that Yoga Nidra induces deep relaxation and heightened awareness, causing significant changes in the brain's functional connectivity. The first functional MRI study exploring neural mechanisms of Yoga Nidra found more significant brain changes in individuals with experience in yoga/meditation than those with less or no experience. The practice of Yoga Nidra, often referred to as 'yogic sleep' or 'non-sleep deep rest', aims to induce a state of deep relaxation while maintaining awareness.
