2023 Ireland seatbelt use among drivers and front-seat passengers declines 4% to 95%, RSA urges usage.

According to a study conducted by Ireland's Road Safety Authority (RSA), seatbelt use among drivers and front-seat passengers has declined from 2022 to 2023. The rate of drivers wearing seat belts decreased by 4% (from 99% to 95%), while the decline for front-seat passengers was 5% (from 99% to 94%). Despite the decline, rear-seat passenger seat belt rates increased by 2% to 95%. The RSA is urging drivers and passengers to always wear their seatbelts.
