Indian companies hire women at entry level, promoting diversity, but their C-suite hiring falls sharply to 19% at mid-management and senior levels, according to the DivHERsity Benchmarking Report 2023-24. Large enterprises lead in women recruitment with 38% at entry level, while the share of women in C-suite positions has dropped to 24% from 37% in 2022. Surveys show 84% of companies have initiatives for recruiting women, and startups/SMEs have a slight improvement at 36% of the workforce.
