26-year-old Eugene man, Tyler Dean Perkins, was found deceased in a log jam of the McKenzie River on June 9th, following an extensive search by Lane County Sheriff's Search and Rescue crews. The search began on June 5th after a person was seen in the river near Belknap Hot Springs. Perkins had been reported missing on June 8th, and was believed to have been camping in the area. A recovery mission took place the next day due to dangerous water conditions.
