ERCOT warns of a 12% chance of rolling blackouts in Texas in August due to high energy demand.

Texas' power grid operator ERCOT has warned of a 12% chance of rolling blackouts in August, as energy demand could reach 78,000 megawatts, just below the state's projected supply of 83,000 megawatts. The risk of controlled outages is at 16% during the peak hour of 8 to 9pm, when wind power production is low. ERCOT urges Texans to conserve energy during this period to prevent a statewide grid failure.
