16% of Texas's daily solar energy may be lost during the April 8 solar eclipse, impacting solar power generation.

The April 8 solar eclipse will darken the sky for millions and impact solar power generation. Texas's Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) expects solar production to decrease between 12:10-3:10 p.m. CDT as the eclipse passes over the state. While ERCOT does not expect grid reliability concerns, solar power is anticipated to be affected across the U.S., with Texas potentially losing up to 16% of its daily solar energy during this time.
