International Protection accommodation costs in Ireland reached €215m in the first quarter of 2023, a 54% increase from the previous year. Payments to accommodate International Protection (IP) applicants surged by 54% to €214.94m, while those accommodating Ukrainians decreased by 5% to €213.44m. A Kerry guesthouse owned by independent TD Michael Healy-Rae received €917,970 for accommodating Ukrainians between January 1 and March 31, 2023.
